A blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift, is a procedure that can address several problems in the eye area: excess wrinkled, sagging skin on the eyelids, a drooping lower lid, bags below the eyes, and pockets of fat around the eye that create a permanent appearance of puffiness.
During a blepharoplasty, Dr. Fisher will make incisions hidden in the crease on the upper lid and along the lashline of the lower lid. She will then remove the excess fat and trim the sagging skin. In addition, she may tighten the underlying orbicularis oculi muscle. These options will be discussed with you in detail during your initial consultation.
Blepharoplasty is a common procedure with dramatic results and minimal pain or visible scarring. You can expect some mild bruising, and can be back to work within a week, looking rested and refreshed. This and other cosmetic procedures can be performed in an accredited outpatient surgical facility.
