Brazilian Butt Lift
Buttock Augmentation in Austin, TX
Buttock augmentation surgery, sometimes referred to as a Brazilian butt lift, is fast becoming one of the more popular cosmetic procedures in the world. For patients who feel that their buttocks are too small or out of proportion to the rest of their body, who desire a curvier silhouette, or for those whose buttocks are loose and sagging due to weight loss or age, a Brazilian butt lift in Austin, TX, from Christine Fisher MD could be an ideal solution.
Why Should You Consider a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A shapely and youthful buttocks has long been considered attractive, but maintaining a fit and sexy curve can be difficult, especially for anyone who has lost a significant amount of weight. The drop in volume due to diet and exercise, a hormonal shift after childbirth, aging, or weight loss can leave excess skin looking deflated, creating sagging, flat buttocks that look old. Restoring volume to your backside with a Brazilian butt lift can help clothes to fit better once again, as well as restore confidence by creating contours associated with a more youthful body. For many women undergoing a "Mommy Makeover" body shaping procedure, a subtle Brazilian butt lift can add youthful curve and create balanced proportions.
Your Brazilian Butt Lift Experience
Before any surgical decisions are made, Dr. Fisher will first meet with you during a consultation to determine your cosmetic goals and determine whether a Brazilian butt lift is the ideal surgical procedure for meeting them.
For patients choosing a Brazilian butt lift, Dr. Fisher uses liposuction to harvest fat from another area of your body—typically either your abdomen or outer thighs. The fat is then purified and re-injected into your buttock area in a technique known as fat grafting. In some cases, she may also need to add an implant in order to achieve your ideal results. All of these options will be discussed with you in detail during your consultation.

Buttock augmentation surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure so you can go home the same day. You will need to wear a compression garment 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for two to four weeks following surgery to reduce postoperative swelling and to keep the transplanted fat in the correct position. You will also take ibuprofen twice daily for inflammation. You can expect some soreness and tightening in the buttock area at first, but this should subside within a week of your Brazilian butt lift surgery. You will not be able to sit or sleep on your buttocks or perform squats or stretches for three weeks. Activities such as this can cause pressure in the buttocks and destroy transplanted fat. You may drive after three weeks if you are off all prescription pain medication.
Results are generally visible as soon as the surgery is completed, but the ultimate look will become increasingly apparent as post-surgical swelling goes down and the new contours settle.

Make the Most of Your Brazilian Butt Lift in Austin, TX
The buttocks are not the only part of the body that can sag over time. In addition to the Brazilian butt lift, Dr. Fisher also offers body-shaping procedures to address excess tissue all over the body, including a breast lift and tummy tuck. Women who have seen their bodies change after pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing may consider any of these procedures, as well as breast augmentation, which can be combined to create a customized set of procedures frequently referred to as a "Mommy Makeover." Rather than dwelling on that term, Dr. Fisher chooses to use "post-maternity reconstructive surgery" to describe the options as they work together to address problems of both form and function.
