DiVa Vaginal Rejuvenation
Changes related to the aging process are not limited to the visible areas of the body. Many women notice new symptoms arise in their most intimate areas as collagen loss and skin laxity can take their toll down there as well. The lips or labia of the vagina can stretch and begin to protrude outside the vaginal opening. Hormonal changes, including the drop in estrogen that occurs during menopause, can also result in vaginal atrophy or a thinning of the vaginal wall. Beyond aging, childbirth can also lead to what was once considered irreversible changes, affecting women even in their younger years. For cancer survivors, chemotherapy, hormone therapy or oophorectomy can cause hormone changes or early menopause. All of these developments can lead to vaginal dryness, uncomfortable intercourse and urinary incontinence for some women.
In the past, women thought they just had to live with these changes as a part of a process they could not reverse. Today that is no longer true. Revolutionary laser technology provided by the diVa device can help to restore youthful elasticity and moisture in the vaginal wall, reducing uncomfortable symptoms and allowing a woman to feel like herself once again, no matter her age. Dr. Christine Fisher offers the diVa treatment to her Austin area patients, providing them with a rejuvenating option for one of the most sensitive areas of the body. Send us an online message or contact us by phone at 512-815-0123 to find out if diVa is the right treatment choice for you.
Why Should You Consider Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Vaginal laser treatment addresses many of the symptoms associated with changes to the vagina and surrounding areas caused by having children or the aging process. The procedure is frequently sought by women who have gone through multiple pregnancies and experienced changes to the vagina after childbirth. It is also a frequent choice for women in the menopausal years that have seen similar issues arise because of the natural aging process. Symptoms reduced after diVa laser treatment might include:
- Vaginal dryness
- Laxity in the vaginal area
- Vaginal itching
- Uncomfortable intercourse
- Decreased sex drive
- Urinary incontinence
Dr. Fisher may perform diVa vaginal rejuvenation as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other types of vaginal therapy including diVaTyte and wOw-Shots. She will assess your individual condition and listen to your concerns during your consultation so that she can determine the best treatment plan for you.
How Does the Sciton diVa Laser Treatment Work?
The diVa laser features cutting-edge hybrid laser technology that allows the device to ablate and coagulate vaginal tissue for the best possible results. Fractional technology provides deeper penetration into the tissue to stimulate collagen and elastin production, while the ablative function of the laser resurfaces the outermost tissue. The procedure is comfortable and requires almost no downtime afterward. Results after a series of treatment sessions tend to be both dramatic and long-lasting.
Options in Vaginal Therapy
Dr. Fisher offers a variety of vaginal rejuvenation options, which can be performed separately or simultaneously, depending on the needs of each of her patients:
diVa Laser Vaginal Therapy
This treatment addresses both the internal vaginal lining and the deeper tissue, producing a tightening effect and improving elasticity. The procedure uses a comfortable applicator that is inserted into the vagina, and then the laser gently rotates so that all the tissue in the area is treated. The process is customized for the individual patient, based on age, concerns and desired outcome.
While diVa works on the internal vaginal tissue, diVaTyte targets the external labia to rejuvenate and tighten the vaginal lips. The procedure works similarly, firming excess skin at the opening of the vagina that can lead to uncomfortable friction and an undesirable appearance.
This injection augments and treats the clitoris and upper vagina, which is the source of sexual stimulation and response in women. First, we draw blood from the patient, which we then process to remove the platelet-rich plasma filled with growth factors and other natural rejuvenating substances. The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the clitoral area to add volume and restorative growth factors to the area. Benefits include increased sensitivity, which can lead to more satisfying sex.

The Day of Your Vaginal Laser Treatment
Your diVa treatment can take place during the same appointment as your consultation or at a later time, depending on your preference. Anesthesia is not necessary and the procedure only takes a few minutes to complete. Before the procedure, local anesthetic numbing cream is applied for optimal comfort during the treatment. Patients may feel slight pressure as the probe is inserted, but the process of the laser working to resurface and tighten your vaginal walls will not be uncomfortable.
diVa Laser Aftercare
The recovery process after a diVa treatment is fairly easy. Patients are usually back to their regular activities the same day. You may experience some spotting for one to two days after the procedure. You will be instructed not to insert anything into the vagina for a few days so that it has ample time to heal. You should also wait to have intercourse for at least three days.
Achieving Optimal Results While you will likely experience some positive changes after a single diVa treatment session, most patients schedule a series of two to three appointments, spaced about four to six weeks apart to ensure optimal results. Once those are achieved, a touch-up session once or twice a year may help you maintain your rejuvenation benefits.
