Reduce Your Double Chin in Austin, TX
Stubborn fat cells that stay in place despite diet and exercise can be found all over the body but may be most visible in the form of a double chin. The term "submental fullness" describes the look of excess volume just below the face, and it may or may not be impacted by careful menu planning and rigorous physical activity. If other strategies are not working to reduce a double chin, there is a simple solution in Kybella® from the medspa at Austin's Christine Fisher MD.
Why Should You Consider Kybella®?
No one can control how or which fat cells will shrink with lifestyle-based efforts.. Fat reduction that targets a specific pocket can involve outside help, such as Kybella®. The injectable is ideal for men and women frustrated by the ongoing presence of a double chin but who do not want to turn to surgery. Patients should be at or near their ideal weight and not consider Kybella® to be a weight-loss treatment since it is for cosmetic purposes only.
Because Kybella® involves injections, there is no need for an incision or related sutures. The deoxycholic acid-based formula attacks the fat cells, causing them to rupture and be marked for removal by natural processes. This is a very powerful and effective formula derived from the same chemicals the body produces to digest fat, so it should be injected only by a licensed medical professional who has the proper training and experience.

Your Kybella® Experience
The Christine Fisher MD medspa team is specially trained in the use of Kybella®, which is FDA approved for use below the chin. Treatment time can be a short as 15 minutes to half an hour, even with numerous precision injections in the target area. Talk to your injector about strategies for minimizing discomfort during the process.
There may be some initial injection-related swelling and redness, but this will fade soon after the session and will be followed by weeks of gradual fat reduction. Over a sequence of months, volume below the chin will be reduced. Since these fat cells are ruptured, processed, and eliminated, they cannot grow larger again.
Ideal results may require multiple treatment sessions spaced apart by about a month.

Beyond Kybella® in Austin, TX
Patients who want results that are visible sooner than Kybella® allows and who are willing to consider surgery can talk to Dr. Christine Fisher about liposuction, which vacuum suctions unwanted fat cells out of the body through a cannula inserted via a small incision. A consultation can help to determine which option is right for you.
Sagging skin can also contribute to a look of submental fullness by creating folds that bulge out when you look down. A neck lift can remove this loose tissue. SkinTyte® is a nonsurgical option that corrects sagging with infrared light energy. Both of these options can address the jowls and hidden jawline that often come with skin laxity in the neck area.
