Remove Signs of Aging and Damage in Austin, TX

Since the dead, outermost layers of skin are where many fine lines, signs of sun damage, and numerous other cosmetic problems are seen, removing these layers is a simple and effective way to rejuvenate the entire face. A chemical peel from Austin's Christine Fisher MD is a nonsurgical method that exfoliates to reveal younger skin and stimulates the natural healing processes that continue to revitalize the area long after the treatment is done.

A range of chemical peels is available—superficial, medium, and deep—but all of them work in generally the same way: A carefully prepared solution is applied to the skin, then removed after an appropriate amount of time has passed—which depends on the peel being used. These will cause the outermost layer of skin to exfoliate and be replaced with new epidermis. Deeper peels stimulate great effect, and in some cases smooth fine lines by tightening skin due to increased collagen in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. In the hours and days after a session, the treated skin will begin to flake and peel to reveal fresher, smoother, brighter skin. This skin will appear red and feel tender at first, as well as be particularly sensitive to sunlight, so precautions should be taken to avoid exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Similar results are available from a laser skin resurfacing treatment. A "laser peel" is an erbium laser resurfacing treatment that painlessly removes the outermost 20 to 100 microns of epidermis. Deeper treatments are available to reduce visible brown spots, age spots and enlarged capillaries. Another laser treatment called the Halo creates a dramatic improvement with a combination of brightening and skin tightening to erase sun damage. This uses a fractional erbium laser to deeply treat the skin with minimal downtime. A consultation with the Christine Fisher MD team can help patients determine which options is best for them.
